Hua Hin street food is similar to Bangkok. So, not to worry if your stomach starts to grumble audibly in the day or night. You can find a street hawker from morning until midnight 12am. Street food at Hua Hin is not only popular among the tourists and also the locals! Street food is filled with warm and hospitality from the street hawker and the locals. We have also observed that the locals have initiated to grill chicken wings while the street hawker was busy. There are also chances where by the street hawker cannot communicate in English. And we are fortunate to meet many friendly and helpful locals who have helped us to translate and making order. Some of the street food varieties, and not limited to below.
- Stir-fried Rice Noodle (Pad Thai)
- Papaya Salad (Som Tam)
- Spring rolls
- Tom Yum soup
- Charcoal Grilled Chicken Wings
- Sticky Rice with Mango
- Thai Ice Milk Tea
- and more!
Charcoal Grilled Chicken Wings at 15 baht (~S$0.60) per piece. Papaya salad at 35 baht (~S$1.40). Enjoying homely papaya salad and deliciously marinated chicken wings in hotel room. The street hawker has also gave me a handful of fresh long beans before I go. Don’t ask me why cause I have no idea why too. HAHA 🙂
As the chicken wings are grilled using charcoal, the waiting time is approximately 20-30 minutes.
This street hawker is located at the entrance of Saeng Thai (Sangthai) Seafood Restaurant.
Sliced pork or beef noodles in soup at 30-40 baht (~S$1.20-S$1.60). Soft and chewy pork slices and the radish is soaked with soup goodness. We will never get to buy a bowl of noodles full of ingredients for less than S$2 in Singapore.
These 4 condiments (chilli flakes, sweet and sour chilli, chilli powder and sugar) and fish sauce can be found in almost all street food hawker stall. This street hawker is located along Hua Hin 55, outside Family Mart. If you are worried about the hygiene at street food, I would advice to order from stall that practices good hygiene. Despite having a sensitive stomach, these street foods are fine and I do not have any stomach upset. I have many good experiences with street food, are you enjoying street food in Hua Hin too?
