Media Tasting at &JOY Dining Hall

RE&S Holdings Limited, a Japanese multi-brand food and beverage operator has recently launched its new multi-concept Dining Destination “&JOY Dining Hall’’ in Jurong Point. This food establishment has replaced half of the Japanese food street and the westies were probably eagerly anticipating its opening.

&JOY Dining Hall consists of 2 individual quick-concept restaurants and 6 stalls sharing common payment system and sitting area. Its fully digitalised payment system allows users to order via their own mobile devices by either scanning a QR code on the tables or connecting to the free Wi-Fi provided. Fret not as they have deployed a team of staff who would assist if you have encountered any difficulties in the ordering process.

&JOY Dining Hall will also be introducing two partner brands from Osaka, Japan namely, Ramen KIOU and Roman.Tei to enhance the food offering.

With over 22 outlets in Japan and presence in Thailand, Ramen Kiou has partnered RE&S to open its first outlet in Singapore, supervised by three owner-brothers. The pork bone broth is milky pairing well with thin springy noodles and tender roasted chashu (pork belly slices). Loved how the charred taste from the chashu blended together with the broth.

If you are feeling adventurous, go ahead to try out their Instagram worthy Tomato Cheese Ramen as well.

The other brand from Osaka that has opened its first overseas outlet is Roman. Tei. Being a beef specialist and wholesaler, its tender beef steak with rice is considerably affordable and its menu consists of a series of different beef sets. I was quite addicted to the thinly sliced beef as its thickness, texture as well as flavor (no beefy smell) matched my preference.

Besides the 2 partner brands from Osaka, RE&S also launched 3 original concepts, namely Sushi-GO (restaurant), Pittarino (restaurant) and My Gohan (common dining area) at &JOY Dining Hall

Sushi Go is more towards a fuss free quick service restaurants where food is delivered to diners’ table on mini conveyor trains.

Pittarino is a name intentionally sounding Italian, meaning “just right” in Japanese. It serves hand-stretched freshly-baked Neapolitan pizza as well as pasta with a dash of Japanese touch as the Japanese chef has rich experience in Japanese-Italian fusion cuisine.

Last but not least, My Gohan literally translated to “My Meal”. It offers Japanese home-style meal which can be customised to include a main, soup, rice and side dishes. Besides the set, diners could order any item as ala-carte as well.

Other than the 5 new brands, the drinks booth offers an interesting range of canned flavoured drinks imported from Japan. I pick would be the bottled lemon drink that was pretty sour and I bet it was loaded with vitamin C.

Do check out RE&S Holdings Limited new concept as I am sure you would find something that would suit your preference!
