My friends have shared that tempura tendon appears to be relatively expensive as it is expected to cost as much as S$20+. Imagine you can enjoy a simple bowl of tempura tendon comfortably starting from S$8.50 at Tenya.

Tenya first set its ground on Asakusa in Japan Tokyo and spans out to 226 stores over Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, HongKong, including Singapore. It is said that the ingredients are sourced from long-standing producers in Japan. That includes the secret blend of tempura flour, tare sauce and togashi chilli. We are looking forward to try the unique tempura taste at Tenya.
The tempuras have always been consistent as Tenya uses a patented automatic fryer that monitors the consistency. And you might not believe it, each piece of tempura takes only 2 minutes to achieve the crisp taste.
The Seafood Tendon is filled to the brim (S$12.90) with Black Tiger prawn, anago, scallop, redfish, pumpkin and French beans. Each piece of tempura is coated in a very light and delicate batter and fried to beautiful golden colour. As the ingredients don’t have much batter cushioning so it is not as crispy as compared to other tempura chains.
You may wish to order either with rice, udon or soba.
You gonna order the truffle fries (S$3.90). It remained crispy thou we left it for awhile. I was a little disappointed at the portion of the “mini” tori karaage fried chicken (S$4.90). That’s probably for kid’s meal?
Don’t forget to order Hokkaido soft serve (S$2) and enjoy it under the LED ceiling display that sets the mood on rotation displaying nature, kaleidoscopic graphics.
Tenya is probably the most affordable tendon out there in Singapore! Do note that there might be a long waiting time during peak hours.
