Step into the comforting embrace of halmeoni-style Korean cuisine as Gwanghwamun Mijin, a cherished Seoul institution since 1954 and an eight-time MICHELIN Bib Gourmand awardee, opens its first international flagship in Singapore on 22 August 2025. Founded in the heart of Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun district, this iconic eatery has been loved for generations — especially for its legendary cold buckwheat noodles, served in a refreshingly slushy, seafood-rich broth that’s as nostalgic as it is sublime.

Gwanghwamun Mijin 1

Gwanghwamun Mijin 2
Signature Buckwheat Noodles ($15) This is not your average cold noodle dish. Each order comes with two trays of chewy, house-made buckwheat noodles and a chilled kettle of broth flown in directly from Korea. The broth is an umami-packed masterpiece, simmered for 8 hours with 14 natural ingredients, then cooled for 12 hours and transformed into a refreshing icy slush using a special machine imported from Korea. Paired with grated daikon, a touch of light wasabi, crispy seasoned laver, and chopped spring onions, every bite is a dance of texture and temperature. It’s a dish that’s stood the test of time for over 70 years!
