Media Tasting at Niku King

Meat lovers will be thrilled to hear this news! Think of your bowl of ramen filled to the brim with meat and more meat.

Niku King has opened its door, forming the other half of Tonkotsu King on 21 September 2020.

The new ramen restaurant is brought by The Keisuke Group, being the 12th ramen concept! If you’re wondering, Niku King is inspired by its popular sister outlet, Niku Soba in Japan.

Fret not if your friend is a fan of Tonkotsu King and you’re a meat lover. You guys could dine together at Niku King with the extensive combined menu from Tonkotsu King.

Niku King Tonkotsu Ramen Special (S$19.90) is generously filled with chasyu slices, Tontoro pork chasyu slices, bamboo shoots, spring onions, flavoured egg as well as seaweed. The ramen broth at Niku King had super thick, creamy strong broth with extra umami flavours. We noticed that each slice of meat comes with a layer of the sinfully delicious fats. The noodles are also thicker and larger comparing to the standard ramen. There is also an option for you to make it spicy with an additional S$1. Unfortunately for heat lovers, they’re not spicy at all.

Something new you can expect at Niku King will be soy sauce based Shoyu broth and a special Hokkaido-style- savoury miso paste broth – a favourite among the Japanese at Niku Soba in Japan.

Niku King Miso Ramen Special (S$18.90) shared the same toppings as the above but in a different broth. The result of the miso based broth is a little sweet, fresh-tasting. For non-spicy ramen, the chef has added grated ginger. The kind of ramen that I enjoy for my meal.

One of the exclusive side dishes like Salmon Rare Katsu (S$8.90). The sashimi grade salmon katsu looks as good as it look, full of crunch they won’t disappoint try them out!

Who doesn’t love a giant bowl of stomach-filling ramen with free-flow of beansprouts and hard-boiled egg? It filled us up for very long. Small eaters are recommended to share a bowl instead!

Other dishes that we will be looking forward to try are signature Keisuke Egg Rice and Deep-fried Chicken Wings. Can’t wait to visit again!
