Japanese ramen restaurant IPPUDO has recently opened its eighth outlet at Raffles City Shopping Centre, featuring an array of exclusive dishes as well as its signature ramen offerings. Some of these exclusive dishes boast a western influence, delighting gourmands from both worlds. 

For sake fans, IPPUDO carry labels including Japan’s premium sparkling sake CHIYOMUSUBI SORAH boosting a refreshing, clean finish, as well as DASSAI Junmai Daiginjo 45 which will be available by the glass.

Starting off with my favourite would be the Teppan Rice, which served with a mixture of red and yellow peppers, corn, and crisp-fried IPPUDO ramen noodles. After pouring the eggy homemade cheese lava sauce onto the sizzling hot plate and mixed, it definitely was heavenly. Both wagyu and pork options are available.

Next up the list would be the Homemade Pumpkin Salad, a refreshing mix of creamy pumpkin, diced cucumber and bacon that is heaped with Japanese mayonnaise.

The IPPUDO Spicy Chicken Wings are deep-fried and paired with a homemade sweet and spicy sauce wasn’t spicy at all and was slightly not on par to the other dishes that day.

For fries lovers, the Shaka Shaka Fries is IPPUDO’s take on the highly popular shaker fries. The egg yolk powder, an ingredient that is well-loved by many Singaporeans is poured in the bag and shaken vigorously till each fries is evenly coated with the salty-sweet powder. The taste was subtle and pleasant to snack on.

IPPUDO exclusive offerings also include 2 new buns, namely Salmon Katsu and Veggie Bun. For the Salmon Katsu, it was deep-fried till crispy, retaining the moist salmon within. The Veggie Bun comprises potato croquette that was crisp yet light and fluffy inside.

Not forgetting IPPUDO’s signature series of ramen from its original to its garlic or even its spicy options for different palates. While some might love the spiciness, my preference goes to the garlic one since I love the aroma of garlic broth!

In conjunction with the new outlet opening at Raffles City, IPPUDO is offering a special lunch which includes one ramen offering, one side, and one drink at S$15.90. You may choose 1 out of 3 ramen choices from IPPUDO’s signature Akamaru and Shiromaru, Veggie Dashi, and Chicken Shoyu. Alongside with the sides such as IPPUDO gyoza, chicken karaage, IPPUDO Pork Bun, chicken bun, teppan takoyaki, or mini green salad. This promotion is available only at IPPUDO Raffles City outlet on weekdays from 11AM to 5PM.
