Casa Vostra may sound a little familiar to some and that’s because they used to have a takeaway and delivery concept.  Finding a new home at Raffles City (where McDonald’s used to be!), they have now transformed into a full-service restaurant with gourmet pizzas and home-style Italian dishes.

Casa Vostra 01
Casa Vostra is a partnership between Chef-owner Antonio Miscellaneo, who owns La Bottega Enoteca, and F&B group Ebb & Flow.  It is no wonder the space is gorgeous.  Notwithstanding the central location and beautiful dine-in restaurant, the prices remain affordable with no dish priced over $30.
Casa Vostra 02
We started off with the Bresaola ($14), home-aged beef served with rocket ant Parmigiano Reggiano.  As with cured meat, this dish can be a little salty, so have some cocktails or chillers on hand to go with it.
Casa Vostra 03
The Frittatina Lasagna ($8) would likely be a hit with the kids.  The crispy fried lasagne has layers of juicy beef, pancetta, soffritto and San Marzano DOP.  On 31 July 2024, Casa Vostra is giving away complimentary Frittatina between 3 – 5pm, while stocks last!
Casa Vostra 04
My favourite pizza from the ones that we tried was the Tartufo e Funghi ($28).  A white sauce pizza with the signature fluffy dough is topped with Fior di Latte, Taleggio, mushrooms, thyme and finished with a generous helping of fresh shaved black truffle.  The aroma is heavenly and delivers in taste too.
Casa Vostra 05
We also tried the red sauce Gamberi pizza ($28), that has generous San Marzano DOP, Argentinian prawns, tomato and prawn reduction and lemon zest.  This is also a Newpolitan pizza – think bubbling crusts that are softer and floppier so perfect for those who like their crusts on the fluffier side.
Casa Vostra 06
One of the more interesting pizzas that we had was from the Doublecrunch section.  The Mortadella ($22) serves up burrata, mortadella, pistachio, lemon zest, basil and Parmigiano Reggiano.
Casa Vostra 07
This is a pizza-sandwich hybrid with a light crispy top, which goes well with richer fillings.  A good option for the office crowd at Raffles City with lux fillings.
Casa Vostra 08
I was excited to try the pastas after seeing Chef kneading the pasta dough by the side.  The Agnolotti del Plin ($23) encases tender pork stew and served in chicken jus and butter sauce.  The portion was a tad small, but this allows you to try the other pastas on the menu.
Casa Vostra 09
My pick would be the Crab Tagliatelle ($26).  The tagliatelle is al dente, with generous jumbo crab meat lumps in tomato confit fragranced with olive oil, garlic and basil.  A solid bowl of pasta and a must-order for me.
Casa Vostra 11
We rounded up the meal with Tiramisu ($10) and Panna Cotta ($8).  The former is a classic Italian dessert with decadent layers of mascarpone, savoiardi, coffee and cocoa.
Casa Vostra 10
The Panna Cotta presents silky spoonfuls of cream, vanilla, strawberry, basil and olive oil.  I prefer the Panna Cotta as the basil and olive oil adds a nice savoury touch to the sweet dessert.

Casa Vostra is a welcome addition to Raffles City and kudos to them for making gourmet pizzas and pastas at affordable prices to the masses.

Budget: $20 to $30 per person
