Due to COVID-19 situation, many countries have imposed entry restrictions and border closures. Where can I travel now on special occasions like birthday or spending my leaves meaningfully? Thankfully, there are many attractive staycation deals in Singapore.

I’m looking at a staycation for my mind to relax, recharge and rejuvenate. Then, W Singapore caught my eye and thought I would try it out.

W Singapore is located amidst the lush greenery and lively coastal setting of Sentosa, Singapore’s resort island.

The 5-star luxury hotel is a beachfront lifestyle type, like you’ve travelled out of Singapore for a retreat! And, Resorts World Sentosa is approximate 3km away if you’re looking for shopping and entertainment. Pssst, W Singapore is SG Clean Certified. We can stay with a peace of mind.

Upon arrival at the concierge, we grew in love with the scent. The effect is serene and gave an instant comfort. It was a swift check in. And, we were notified that a booking is required for usage of swimming pool in the day.

Can’t wait to jump into the fluffy king size bed and cuddle up with a fluffy pillow. Something that I like in this Wonderful Room is the adjustable lights where you can change the colour of the floral wall feature around the bed. In the night, you may change it to smoothing mood lighting.

w-singapore-sound-system

You’ll definitely enjoy watching movies with Bose sound system. Do not underestimate this mini size speaker. It delivers a clear, surround and outstanding movie experience in the comfort of the hotel room.

w-singapore-balcony

At the balcony, be rewarded with a luxury view overlooking the serene marina and picturesque scene of yachts on the calming water or the hotel pool.

We had our lunch at Miska Cafe with a stunning view of the marina.

Probably my first time having coconut rice in a rice bowl! Miska Super Rice Bowl is filled with grilled prime ribeye steak and assorted vegetables. Dining at Sentosa Cove without burning a hole in the pocket using 1 for 1 deal from EntertainerAPP. Don’t say I bojio!

w-singapore-gym

How do we spend the afternoon after lunch?

Shall we go to the gym?

The hotel gym has basically what I need – treadmills, stationary bike, yoga mat, yoga balls and some free weights. I’ve enjoyed riding on the stationary bike with views that overlook the pool.

There is a separate shower and bathtub in the washroom.

Among the bathroom amenities like shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, shower caps, toothbrushes etc. I’m surprised that they also provide facial wash.

What do I enjoy most?

Catch a movie from the bath tub! There is a controller near the sink where I can adjust the volume of the television. It’s quite inconvenient as I have to get out of the bath tub.

We love seafood meal with a view. At Greenwood Fish Market, enjoy fresh seafood cuisine while overlooking beautiful yachts, and even chasing sunsets.

Live Boston lobster in luxurious Thermidor sauce. Thick creamy sauce with chunky distinctively firm lobster meat topped with melted baked cheese. It’s amazing! Another dish that we enjoyed is the seasonal Alaskan Wild King Salmon. As the name suggests, King Salmon, you can expect huge flakes and succulent meat with a richer flavour as compared to the regular salmon. Pssst, don’t forget to order their lobster bisque. There are plenty of flavours in the soup with real lobster meat inside. Luscious and creamy, with a rich profile yet smooth texture. We had one bowl each, not for sharing!

The night is still early when the pool opens 24/7.

You’ll be impressed with the warm-water, making this pool an inviting and comfortable atmosphere while you swim in the night.

Due to the new Covid-19 measurements, hotel breakfast buffet has converted into ala carte ordering. Egg benedict is one of my favourite breakfast menu items. I’m so happy that they have it here! The eggs are exquisitely prepared, with a lava flow of yolk spreading on the honey baked ham and bread. There are also local dishes including chicken congee, laksa noodle, dim sum, mee goreng, spiced chick peas etc.

After check out, feeling as rejuvenated and refreshed like a short vacation.
