Media Tasting at Morton’s The Steakhouse

Using only finest grain-fed Prime and Choice beef and containing some of the highest amounts of marbling and is rare in the beef industry. You might have the misconception that Morton’s beef is grilled but that’s not the case. All steaks are broiled to order at 800-1000F, seals in flavour (flame from above) then seasoned with Morton’s seasoning salt. The steak is then dressed with au jus which is the meat broth and garnished with watercress.

Here’s some cuts of steak available at Morton’s:
1️⃣ Dry-aged beef
2️⃣ Wet-aged beef
3️⃣ Porterhouse steak (24 oz & 48 oz)
Basically a filet cut from the short loin, about 2 inches across to be a Porterhouse smaller is considered a T-Bone.
4️⃣ Fillet Mignon (6oz, 8oz, 12oz)
A delicate, buttery texture that is portioned for the whole tenderloin. It is also the leanest tender cut.
5️⃣ New York Strip (20oz, 10oz)
Not as tender and sumptuous as Ribeye and Fillet Mignon, a little chewier and less marbling.
6️⃣ Ribeye (16oz)
With the highest fat content among all steaks, cajun marinated of up to 60 hours. It has one of the richest tastings. Option for bone-in ribeye at 20-22oz. And while the bone might make it hard to navigate your knife and fork, rest assure there is cut from the boneless lip-on ribeye.

Splurging on a pricier steak, delectable almost sweet beef flavour, and a strong buttery taste, go for Fillet Mignon. Followed by an abundance of fat, marbled within the meat and the edges is what makes Ribeye the popular choice for the crowd. The New York Strip thou not as meltingly soft as the aforementioned steaks, but just enough chewing to remind you why your vegan experience didn’t last. Good steak paired with a good wine leads to a perfect lunch or dinner. Don’t miss pairing wine for the best steak experience.

And my “dessert stomach” naturally opens up at the sight of beautiful desserts. A trio of desserts Creme Brûlée Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse, Whipped Cream with Strawberry and Blueberry. The Creme Brûlée Cheesecake was dense, rich, and light at the same time, and serves a small portion so I can feast on other desserts. Would prefer the silky, light and fluffy chocolate mousse over whipped cream with fruits.
