Media Tasting at KOMYUNITI at Yotel Hotel
KOMYUNITI, conveniently situated in the town centre, with pool and rooftop access and its food menu crafted by Chef Mark Tai, formerly from Cheek by Jowl. Komyuniti is fairly new in the heart of Orchard, equipped with a bar, restaurant, alfresco terrace, and even a coworking space. Never feel hungry again if you’re working here!
Started our dinner with some appetisers including Salmon Poké, Beef Tartare, Curry Corn Soup and Mama’s Tomato Soup. The secret to a flavourful salmon poke? The house-made chilli sauce with soy! The spicy salmon gets its kick from the chilli sauce. Scoop some salmon poke to the colourful fried onion crackers and start munching away. Mama’s Tomato Soup resembles drinkable pizza spread with a hint of red bell pepper, packed full of flavour to amp up.
Prices from S$9-S$14.
One of my favourite dishes, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, served with sweet potato mash and succotash. Think of crunchy cornmeal crusted with well- marinated juicy chicken meat.
Buttermilk Fried Chicken at S$13.
A cracking good dish with this roasted pork belly served with roasted Brussels sprouts, baby potatoes and green apple. The pork belly was decently tender however I wished for a crispier skin! Nevertheless, the roasted pork belly is a good match for earthy Brussels sprouts. We’ve also tried slow-roasted duck breast, it’s tender and easy to slice through the meat. But I couldn’t taste braised red cabbage taste in this meat. I’m attracted to the smooth carrot puree at the side.
Roasted Pork Belly at S$19.
Slow Roasted Duck Breast at S$20.

Grandma’s recipe apple walnut cake is good, crumbly with salted caramel and brandy cream. This banana cake is moist, tasted like banana bread, but really light and full of banana flavour. I also enjoyed it as it comes with a nice taste of toasted barley ice cream. Hay Panna Cotta had a neutral sweet taste at the end, I would prefer to skip it.
Apple Walnut Cake at S$10.
Caramelised Banana Cake at S$10.
Hay Panna Cotta at S$9.
