Fuzhou Oyster Cake is a traditional Fuzhou snack. The filling is made from pork minced meat, oysters , shrimp, fried chinese parsley. And the flour is prepared using three sorts of flour and a slurry produced using mixed soya beans. This procedure produces a golden, bronze and crispy shell. Garnished with a few peanuts and silverfish before being dove into hot oil. Fuzhou oyster cake is a staple food in a traditional Fuzhou family. You don’t get to find traditional oyster cake in many hawker centres, food gem only at Jalan Besar. It is a 6 minutes walk from City Square Mall.
Each piece of oyster cake costs SGD1.80 or SGD2.30 with more ingredients.
It would be my all-time favourite oyster snack if it is less salty.
Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake is located in a corner at Jalan Basar. Be prepared to wait for about 15 minutes as each piece of oyster cake is freshly prepared and fried upon order.
-We paid for our meal.

[…] The Teochew Meat Puff that made me go crazy to queue for at least 45 minutes. Well, I’m not the most crazy one. Spotted someone bought 25 pieces at one go. Do not underestimate the size of this UFO. It is bigger than what you see on the screen now. Really mad love over this UFO oyster cake. Beneath thin crispy crust, the minced meat and diced mushroom is very well marinated and is not so salty. It also comes with chinese celery, do request a special order if you don’t eat it. The uncle is generous with the ingredients, you get 2 pieces of fat oysters for oyster cake and 1 whole piece of scallop for scallop oyster cake. Wondering how to differentiate the different fillings? You can easily spot by the peanut pattern dressed on the UFO cover. Peanuts that were clustered together at a corner is oyster. Two peanuts on 4 UFO corner is scallop. And lastly, ikan bilis spread equally is vegetable. If you missed this chance, visit their Facebook on the next pasar malam or visit another hawker stall selling Fu Zhou Oyster Cake at Berseh Food Centre. […]
