Fine dining with nice food at affordable prices is possible at The Clan Restaurant. The Clan Restaurant is located on 2nd level of PoMo Mall serving Asian Fusion Cuisine. We were greeted with modern European interior design. This ideal setting is definitely a good place for ladies who love to take selfies. I had commended for my birthday lunch around 1 month back. They were serving 5 courses lunch at S$55* and 6 courses dinner at S$75*. Now, they no longer serve 5 courses lunch. Do take note of the new menu and prices.
New Lunch Menu
2 Courses S$29*
3 Courses S$38*
New Dinner Menu
6 Courses S$78*
It was a hot and humid weather in Singapore. Arrived on a bursting hot sunny afternoon, the refreshing lime sorbet was the best thirst quencher.
Each table is accompanied with a glass bottle of mineral water.
Acqua Panna Natural Mineral Water ( Price : S$6.80* ).
Appetizers are the little things you keep eating until you lose your appetite. This set is the best appetizer that I have ever had so far. Wondering which dish to start with? We were recommended to start from the scallop (center in photo) to chawanmushi (right in photo) and finally escargot (left in photo).
Chef’s selection of the day appetizer starts with fresh japanese scallop. It was well-cooked, soft and chewy. I can even taste the natural scallop juice oozing from every bite.
Japanese Chawanmushi in fragrance thick broth. The fine texture simply melts in the mouth.
Good combination of Escargot with crunchy nuts. These yummy appetizers in fact made me anticipating more dishes.
Pan Seared Foie Gras with Mustard Seed Bread, Dehydrated Cranberries and Balsamic Reduction.
Herb Crusted Mushroom Escargot.
My partner who had ordered this, regretted. Not because of the taste but a repetition of one of the appetizers. We had forgotten to check of the Chef’s selection of the day with the crew. Moreover we were not informed of the Chef’s selection of the day.
I love drinking soups especially with truffle oil. Presenting Cepes Mushroom Soup with Truffle Oil.
Duck Confit with Plum Mustard, Truffle Mashed Potato and Seasonal Vegetables.
Miso Marinated Cod Fish with Truffle Mashed Potato.
Another dish that melts in the mouth. Cod fish was lightly seared on top and soft on the inside. I really love the nice truffle mashed potato.
Chocolate Lava with Homemade Gelato. This is the top selection for dessert.
Vanilla Panna Cotta with Compressed Fruit.
Crispy on top, delicate at center and crunchy at the base.
And last but not the least, my birthday cake of the day! I’m very satisfied with the delicious foods served. However service can be better improved. Table was not cleaned. There were food and water stains after each dish is served. This is still my favourite restaurant. We were anticipating a second visit for our dinner to attempt more food courses.
Revisited a second trip for dinner. However the standard of food has dropped.
