Media Tasting at Ash & Char
I don’t get ashes but I enjoyed the charred dishes of Ash & Char
Conveniently situated along the Central Business District, the new Ash & Char revamped from a cosy cafe to a chic gastro bar. With its modern contemporary furnishing of cocktail tables with high stools and an outdoor bar overlooking the streets, Ash & Char would be a perfect chilling hideout for executives around the area.
Keeping true to it well-loved grill and charred cooking methods, Ash & Char not only embraced its strengths but also pleased to present its upsized menu. Its menu comprises of over 30 popular as well as new appetising dishes that would tickle our taste buds.
If you were a sucker for finger food like myself or would love a sharing platter to pair along with your wine, I would recommend the WEROCTM Wings Platter that consists of Har Cheong Gai, US Buffalo & Japanese Teriyaki. Imagine you get to try 3 different styles of wings from a single platter? It was difficult for me to contain my excitement especially when they were fried till ultra crispy!
Ash & Char’s Signature Char Siu was highly raved from what I have heard as my dining khakis kept mentioning about it. The charred char siu, beautifully caramelized and glazed by its own fats was thankfully not too lean since it was pork belly.
Another meaty appetizer that caught my stomach’s attention was the Award-Winning Mayura Choco Wagyu. Although the grain-fed premium wagyu cubes topped with sea salt lack the choco flavour, it was really tender and addictive. They do have other appetizers such as their Chijeu-Buldak (fire chicken) or Crispy Calamari & Crispy Cauliflower if you would like to do without meat.
If you would prefer to have a more filling meal, I would probably recommend their Tom Yum Seafood Pasta. With its creamy-textured sauce and spiciness that definitely pack a punch, I knew that this main course dish would probably appeal to the crowd. Another non-spicy pasta alternative would be the Creamy Smoked Duck Pasta which had a whiff of lovely smoky aroma.
Not to fret if you are no fan of pasta. There are also other mains alternative from their menu such as the AC Char-grilled Wagyu Burger, Mentaiko Salmon Aburi Rice Bowl as well as their Classic Fish & Chips.
Why not grab a glass of cocktail and head over Ash & Char to try out their dishes?
