I walked into The Winery with the kind of quiet excitement that comes from knowing a menu has just been refreshed for the season. There is a certain charm to seeing familiar European influences reimagined through the lens of an Asian upbringing.

My meal began with the Trout Tartare with Brioche Toast. The trout tasted clean and naturally sweet, and the almond flakes and mint added gentle contrast without getting in the way.

The touch of strawberry gave the plate a small lift while the dill oil tied everything together. It felt like a thoughtful start to the evening.

The baby romaine and radicchio salad arrives with a nice mix of crisp and mildly bitter leaves. The walnut dressing adds a gentle nuttiness that softens the sharper edges of the greens. The granola brings a light crunch while the dried cranberries give small bursts of sweetness. The manchego snow settles over everything in fine shavings that add a quiet savoury note without weighing the salad down. It feels balanced, textured and easy to enjoy at any point in the meal.

For mains, the Iberico Pork Loin had a pleasant sweetness from the red pepper puree and pickled onion, and the herbs kept the flavours fresh.

The Butter Poached Halibut was the softest of the mains I tried with a sauce that gave the fish enough richness without overshadowing its freshness. The peas, asparagus and mussels all worked quietly in support.

The Winery also makes its weekly promotions feel like small events. The Monday Wine Buffet is relaxed and easy to enjoy, especially if you like trying a variety of reds and whites.

Tuesday’s Lobster Tail Night is straightforward and good value.

Wednesday’s Amarone and Appetito pairing encourages you to explore how a bottle can shape the experience of a starter.

Thursday’s Tomahawk Night feels geared toward diners who want a hearty midweek meal. Weekends bring a comforting roast platter that suits a slow afternoon, especially when paired with the free flow selection.
