Media Tasting at Mr Punch

You might not know there’s a Modern European restaurant located at the basement of Mint Museum of Toys. A nostalgic look made by vintage lacquer publicizing signs and strong wood furniture helps us to recall excellent recollections of the past. Mr Punch with its nostalgic environment makes a perfect place to make up for lost time with old companions, having good foods at the basement then enjoy good drinks at the rooftop bar together.

Mr Punch‘s sharing menu is broken down into 3 different chapters, pre-main, mains and desserts. Begin off with a feast of classic favourites like the 4 Act Sliders with its succulent Angus hamburger with custom made Onion Marmalade and Pork Collar with Cajun Spice. Not forgetting the addictive Not-So-Blue Mussels and Drunken Duck. This is just the beginning of the mains, devour the perfect Spring Chicken and savoury good Lobster Brioche. And be amazed with the Flaming Tiramisu that leaves an unforgettable experience.

The tender pork collar is marinated in cajun spice, giving a smoky BBQ taste and refreshing with slices of tomato and lettuce.

The luxury Angus beef patty stars the chivalrous succulent tasty hamburger patty and aged cheddar, combined with the sweet-sourish onion marmalade.

Fresh and juicy US live blue mussels were well soused with sweet, creamy, Sauvignon Blanc and tarragon persillade. The Not-So-Blue Mussels which are the tastiest of the pre mains, and a nice herbaceous aftertaste.

Tips: Leave few burger buns from the 4 sliders and dip it into the mussel sauce, it is another great experience!

We will roll in the mains with Lobster Brioche. Huge chunks of sweet lobster bites tossed and famed whole with Grand Marnier and beautifully finalised with creamy Mentaiko and Gruyere cheese. It is served with fries and home made soft burger buns.

Lobster Brioche at S$32*.

The whole chicken is glazed with spice and herb marinade, then cooked to juicy tenderness. Not a fan of chicken breast, however I’m amazed that the chicken breast meat is so tender and blends great with the natural jus. Once you start this dish, you can’t stop eating.

Corn-fed spring chicken at S$28*.

Flaming Tiramisu presented with coffee-soaked savoiardi, frozen mascarpone and flaming with sambuca. This deconstructed interpretation holds indispensable favours and you may smash it in the way you like it. Oops, I have over smashed it and it tasted like soft serve tiramisu ice cream. Something to note, this tiramisu has alcohol content. If you love alcoholic dessert, you’ll love this!

Flaming Tiramisu at S$12*.
