Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 cocktail
Dallas is a contemporary bar-bistro concept with two outlets at Boat Quay and Marina Bay Sands.  Both have different concepts and we made a visit down to the Boat Quay outlet for lunch.

This February, Dallas is offering their set menu with Asian flavours in celebration of the Lunar New Year.  Affordably priced at S$28++ for 2 courses and S$36++ for 3 courses, Dallas offers you a riverside dining experience (both al fresco and an air-conditioned second-storey restaurant options are available).

We started off with a glass of yuzu lemonade mocktail, which was delightfully refreshing.  For those who would like to grab a drink, you would be pleased to know that they have a full bar and a wide selection of wines.
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 calamari
The black pepper calamari was well-executed with a delicious black pepper and curry leaf dipping sauce.  It is slightly sweet and savoury, complementing the lightly seasoned calamari.
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 wagyu spring roll
The most interesting appetisers that we tried was this wagyu cheeseburger spring roll, served with tomato and mustard dipping sauce.  Think cheeseburger rolled into a spring roll – yes, it even has melty cheese!

Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 satay chicken skewer
The satay chicken skewers were tender and had a smokey flavour from the chargrill.
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 prime rib steak
On to the mains, you have to try their signature Prime Rib Steak (the additional $10 top-up for the set lunch) is worth it.  The prime rib is cooked for 12-14 hours, cut to order and chargrilled.  A generous portion (at least 250g) is served with fries and salad or vegetables.  You can choose from four sauces: red wine jus, black pepper, smokey BBQ and wild mushroom.  We liked the smokey BBQ best.
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 barramundi
The most “Asian” dish that we tried was the steamed barramundi with ginger served with rice and greens (bak choy).  Fish was fresh with barely a hint of the fishiness; definitely on the lighter side.
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 tom yum prawn linguine
The tom yum prawn linguine is tangy but there was not much spiciness or tom yum taste as the tomato flavour is a tad overpowering.  The prawns served are huge and fresh though!
Dallas Restaurant and Bar CNY 2021 dessert cake
We ended the meal on a high note – the dessert, orange and almond cake served with double cream.   The cake is very smooth and forked (so that the citrus flavours can penetrate through the layers).  We were told that the chocolate brownie is something that we should return to try, but this orange and almond cake is definitely something that we hope is going to be a mainstay on the menu!
