Media Tasting at WOK°15 Kitchen Sentosa
Walking pass lavish yachts, minimum crowd and noise away from the busy city. Dining with panoramic view of the marina. Four private dining rooms that are good for private event, business meeting etc. And each room can accommodate up to 10 persons. This happens at WOK 15 Kitchen Sentosa. WOK 15 Kitchen Sentosa is a Chinese restaurant at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove and is open to the public. Offering authentic Cantonese cuisine prepared by experienced chef team and led by Executive Chef Chum Kar Ho. Refined dining options to meet local and international palate under the amazing courses from appetiser, soup, fresh seafood, barbecue selection, dim sum and premium food items. If you are wondering if it is one of the atas Chinese restaurants at Sentosa, I would note that it is an atas Chinese restaurant but at affordable price. The most economy dish that I would be covering is from S$8!!!
These peeled organic tomatoes are tastier and more nutritious as it contains more vitamin C. The tomato has a well balance of sweetness and sourness. However the sauce tasted pretty normal just like the ones from bottled Japanese sesame sauce. On a side track, I love the presentation of this dish with delicate cucumber carving and some appetisers. It’s like a beautiful art piece!
Japanese Greenhouse Tomato served with Wasabi Infused Sesame Sauce at S$8*.
Pork belly was lightly fried before glazing the special sauce over the pork and continue to cook until the pork looks dark. The pork belly skin remains crispy in spite of cooking with the special sauce that might turn the skin soggy. Pork belly meat is tender and marinated with the special sauce completely. What’s the secret behind the special sauce? I have managed to find out that they are using dark soy sauce from Hong Kong. The special sauce is very fragrant, leaving a unique aftertaste.
Sautéed Pork Belly with Special Sauce at S$13*.
Weather is turning cold, we reach out to a bowl of hot soup to keep us warm. Using Sakura chicken and boiled for 4 hours, the soup contains sweetness from the meat. The premium ingredients like dried scallops and himematsutake mushrooms with low calorie content and high nutrient density. The Japanese chicken soup and the ingredients concoct into a bowl of tasty and nutritious soup.
Double Boiled Japanese Chicken Soup with Himematsutake Mushrooms at S$38* per pot.
Honestly, if you ask me if I like Soon Hock fish, I am very neutral before the tasting at Wok 15 Kitchen. The restaurant manager has strict cooking style to Soon Hock fish, and that is to deep fried. I’ll take back my neutral opinion, after the first bite. The deep fried fish meat is executed perfectly, fresh, soft and tender with very crispy fish skin. What’s also important is that it is not oily even though it is deep fried. I don’t get greasy lips after eating. This is definitely one of the must order dishes at Wok 15 Kitchen.
Deep-fried Soon Hock at seasonal price.
As we get to order rare, medium rare, medium done or well done beef at a Western restaurant. In my opinion, one of the most challenging dishes at a Chinese restaurant would be beef. We don’t get to order the doneness of beef at a Chinese restaurant, everything is well done. I’m very pleased that the sauteed beef cubes is very tender to the bite despite it is well done. It is also dressed with crispy garlic flakes, chopped onions and french beans.
Sauteed Beef Cubes with Garlic Flakes at S$26*.
Sweet and assam chilli crab dipped in fried man tou. It is accompanied with a mini stove, making sure that the chilli crab is ready at all-time, served warm and at its best.
Chilli Crab served with Fried Mantou at seasonal price.
Sweet, warm coconut water boiled with snow fungus and osmanthus served in coconut shell as a dessert. It is soul-soothing and comfort to the tummy after a meal.
Double Boiled Snow Fungus and Osmanthus served in Thai Coconut at S$12*.
