With only one humble restaurant in Prince Edward, One Dim Sum has been in the spotlight since the time that they earned their one Michelin star in year 2012. Despite the fact that it didn’t hold the Michelin star, the queue at the eatery continues as before consistently. The restaurant is still filled with mostly locals for their ever craving dim sum. Ordering at One Dim Sum Hong Kong is similar to order dim sum in Tim Ho Wan Singapore. Foremost, get a queue ticket and order chit from the counter. Next, wait for your table outside the restaurant at the waiting area. One Dim Sum is considerate to offer seats at the waiting area. Lastly, pass the order chit to the friendly staff when it’s your turn. Dim sum served pretty fast upon sitted.
Having dim sum in Hong Kong is a lot more affordable than having them in Singapore.
Barbecued Pork Bun. (Price: HKD14; SGD2.50)
This dish was actually a mistake as we wanted to order Baked Barbecued Pork Bun initially. Baked Barbecued Pork Bun and Barbecued Pork Bun 傻傻分不清楚. Nevertheless, it was a sweet mistake. We love the soft bread that blends well with the well-marinated barbecued pork bun.
Pork Meat Congree with Preserved Egg. (Price: HKD18; SGD3.20)
I love Hong Kong porridge so much that I would order porridge wherever I go. Smooth and silky bowl of congree is not enough for me!
Steamed Sui Mai. (Price: HKD24; SGD4.30)
What is Dim Sum if there is no sui mai. One Dim Sum sui mai is moist, yummy and has pork, mushroom, shrimps and fish roe.
Steam Vermicelli Roll with Shrimp and Leek Sprouts. (Price: HKD26; SGD4.60)
You don’t get to see so many vermicelli rolls in one dish in Singapore. It’s almost 7-8 vermicelli rolls! Each vermicelli roll is filled with shrimps and leek sprouts (which is my favourite).
Rice with Fried Egg and Minced Meat Beef. (Price: HKD24; SGD4.20)
It’s recommended for people who seek for some carbohydrates and protein in their meal.
Steam Chicken with Four Combinations. (Price: HKD24; SGD4.30)
I would strongly recommend to order Steam Chicken with Four Combinations from One Dim Sum. Because its exclusive to One Dim Sum. Four Treasures included Chinese Ham, Mushroom, Chicken and fish maw. Fish maw and the wrapping are my favourite part of this dish.
Steam Rib Bone with Chilli. (Price: HKD16; SGD2.90)
The pork ribs are steamed at the right heat such that the bone is effectively separated from the meat. Green chilli is not spicy as there are black bean sauce to balance off the spiciness.
Steam Shrimp Dumplings. (Price: HKD26; SGD4.60)
Looking at each piece of dumpling, its crystal clear. You can even see the shrimp in each dumpling through naked eyes.
Look at the wide varieties of dishes. I will conquer all the dishes one day! Till the next visit to One Dim Sum.
