Kam Wah Cafe is located in Kowloon between Prince Edward and Mong Kok district. Kam Wah Cafe is famous for polo bun and traditional egg tart. The good reviews from the internet has intrigue me for a visit. We were the 2nd table occupied on a weekday evening. Polo bun was served promptly after order was placed. It was of huge size that is bigger than my fist! With much anticipation of Kam Wah signature polo bun, I was disappointed by the hard and cold polo bun served. Neither was the top crust crispy. It was one of the hardest dough polo bun that I have ever ate.
Kam Wah Signature Polo Bun. (Price: HKD6; SGD1.05)
Kam Wah Yang Zhou Fried Rice. (Price: HKD44; SGD7.85)
Fried rice tasted much better as compared to Kam Wah signature polo bun. I can taste every grain of rice that is fried with turmeric powder, prawns, mini bites of luncheon meat, barbecue pork and lettuces.
Kam Wah Recommended Iced Coffee. (Price: HKD18; SGD3.20)
In summary, Kam Wah Cafe is heavily over rated for its famous polo bun. I personally think that any neighbourhood shop that sells freshly made polo bun taste much better. Leaving with disappointment, I will not visit again.
