Chinese New Year 2020 is blessed with innovative Yushengs like the Contemporary Celestial Crowne Yusheng and Traditional Crowne Prosperity Yusheng to toss of abundance and good fortune. We were caught by surprise with the healthier Contemporary Celestial Crowne Yusheng with various fruits and vegetables like Green Mango, Red Radish, Pickled Sweet Turnip, Pickled Beetroot, Red Cabbage, Pickled Papaya and Pickled Pineapple. And thumbs up for their creativity by tossing with a frying stick!



Salt Baked Sakura Chicken is marinated with 24 hours and filled with glutinous rice, mushrooms and Chinese cured sausages then wrapped in banana leaves and swaddled with salt and egg white crust. In terms of the taste, it is not supposed to be salty as the name would suggest. The meat interestingly gives very tender and moist in the texture.


Executive Chef Alvin’s heritage and love for Southeast Asian and Peranakan cuisines thus creating the New Straits Nyonya Pen Cai. The decadent delicacies that you can expect from this prosperity pot, Nyonya-style Crab Meatballs (Bakwan Kepiting) and Pork Knuckle Stew (Pongteh), Dried Scallops (Conpoy), Dried Oysters, Prawns, Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw, Braised Mushrooms, Soy Sauce Stewed White Radish and Black Moss (Fatt Choy). A special mention to the pork knuckle, a wow to its awesome texture. The texture of the pork is soft and could almost melt in your mouth with a perfect balance of saltiness.

The Lunar New Year takeaways are available for order from now till 5 February 2020 and for collection between 6 January to 8 February 2020. Orders are to be placed three days in advance.

Soi Thai Soi Nice


This Chinese New Year, usher in the Year of the Rat by trying an unusual yusheng from Soi Thai Soi Nice. The prosperous Thai-style yusheng is plated with shredded papaya and mango, assorted vegetables, pickles and crispy soft shell crab.


Heng Heng Rui Rui Pen Cai is filled with ingredients like abalone, tiger prawns, roasted chicken, pork belly, yam, broccoli and more. Be wild and add in some mama noodles to soak up the goodness of the hot and spicy broth.
