In the new territories of Hong Kong, Sham Tseng Chan Kee is famous for roast goose. Sham Tseng has several famous goose restaurant, namely, Yu Kee, Fu Kee, Chan Kee. Nonetheless, Chan Kee is said to be the most authentic. Chan Kee started selling coffee brand business in the fifties. With decades of selling goose has attracted many celebrities and stars for a visit. You do not have to go far mountain and deep sea for a plate of roast goose. Besides the main branch Sham Tseng Chan Kee, you can also eat in Mong Kok Chan Kee. Moreover the price at Mong Kok Chan Kee is slightly cheaper as compared to the main branch. Today, I would like to introduce Chen Kee roast goose that is located approximate 3 minutes walk from the Mong Kok MTR station.
Tasty looking goose at the entrance of Chan Kee.
When the shop is crowded during lunch or dinner time, you may wish to order take-away to enjoy the comfort of hotel/home.

Sham Tseng Chan Kee Roast Goose and BBQ Pork with Rice. (Price: HKD56; SGD9.30)
Roast goose meat has thick layer of fats and marinated with strong flavour. I would prefer BBQ pork as it is sturdy and tastes naturally sweet. It’s up to one’s taste bud whether you are more towards strong or light flavour.
Water Spinach with Shiitake Mushroom. (Price: HKD62; SGD11.10)
Although the price is expensive, Chan Kee is generous with the amount of water spinach and mushroom. I feel the water spinach dish tastes better than the signature roast goose.
Chan Kee roast goose and other dishes are quite expensive. Perhaps due to the long history and popularity of the main branch at Sham Tseng Chan Kee. For travellers who are on budget and wish to taste roast goose or other roast meats, may wish to visit Elegant Chinese BBQ Restaurant at a very competitive price.
