Whisk & Paddle is a large sea-fronting cafe & bar. While they have a comfortable tables and chairs for dining, most of the customers prefer to eat at high bench where you can enjoy the sea breeze, taking beautiful pictures and chill out with a group of friends over lunch or dinner and drinks. It is also family friendly cafe, including a small playground for kids. Most of the children are attached to the playground instead of eating.
While waiting for foods to be served, notice these cute side plates. “What a spread!” , “Care for seconds?” and “Salut!!”
As the cafe is crowded when we reached, we are assigned with outdoor seats under the sun. It gets pretty hot, sweaty and uncomfortable when the sun rises. Just when I’m sweating and suggesting to get indoor seating to my friends, one of the servers heard and initiated to get seats inside. Foods are shifted speedy to the new table. Thumbs up to the good service.
Flat white ( Price – S$5.50* ) served with old school cookies instead of the usual biscuits.
Affogato ( Price – S$8.50* ) : Single scoop Vanilla Mövenpick ice cream served with Single shot Espresso.
I’m caught by surprise with excitement. Espresso and Ice cream set in a cocktail glass are set apart rather than served together in a standard glass like most of the cafe does. Its a sweet surprise!
Carbonara ( Price – S$15.80* ) : Spaghetti cooked with garlic, egg yolk, bacon, parmesan cheese, served with poached egg.
Bad news for anti-garlic readers out there. Its not possible to request no garlic for your carbonara. I’m a garlic lover so I really love how garlic draws out the sauce.
Macaroni & Cheese ( Price – S$13.80* ) : Macaroni, honey baked ham and onion cooked in pink sauce and mozzarella cheese.
We have ordered this dish for sharing among 4 of us. Very generous cheese portion, each bite burst with cheese overflow. It tasted great serving hot. I love how the macaroni are slightly burnt.
Whisk Breakfast Plate ( Price – S$19.80* ) : Scrambled egg, Smoked Pork Sausage, Streaky Bacon, Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Cherry Vine Tomatoes, Sauteed Mushrooms, Toasts and Flavoured Butter
Something of my dislike, toasts are too hard to munch. However the sauteed mushrooms and roasted cherry vine tomatoes are my favourite.
Egg Benedict with Smoked Salmon ( Price – S$13* ) : Poached eggs with asparagus and hollandaise sauce on waffles topped with Smoked Salmon
The poached eggs are perfectly runny and delicious! Loving how the waffles crispy yet soft on the inside.
It would be recommended for photographers to visit Whisk & Paddle on a sunny afternoon to catch the best view with brilliant blue sky. If you’re lucky on a starry night, enjoy star gazing while dining.
