Media Tasting at Hustle Co

I hope you had a wonderful Chinese New Year. Any plans after CNY? Take a walk around Outram Park and you’ll spot Hustle Co. My friend and I reached on a Saturday afternoon and was a full house. So you might want to reach there earlier and chope a good seat!

Hustle Co cafe can sit up to 70 diners. The head chef of Hustle Co, Hanafee was working alongside with Michelin Star Spanish Chef, sharing with diners what’s in Hustle Co’s menu at an affordable price.

The appetisers started with a bang from prawns in garlic oil, cauliflower in burnt butter, Manchego and mushroom croquette. If you’re looking for crisp and creamy-centered croquettes, these mini mushroom croquettes are for you! The texture was thick, not clumpy and it’s not overly oily.

Mushroom croquettes (4 pieces) at S$10.

Our top pick goes to prawns in garlic oil. The prawns were crunchy and the flavourful garlic oil is good for sopping up with toasted sourdough. Psst, the shells are off the prawns – in case you are thinking if you have to peel them.

Prawns in Garlic Oil at S$18.

Everything is better with browned butter, crunch from the pine nuts, pickled shallots and fragrance from mint leaves. Browned butter makes humble cauliflower tasted a lot better, non-veggie lovers might love it too!

Cauliflower, burnt butter, manchego at S$18.

These uber tender chunks of pork belly has an almost melt in your mouth texture glazed in sweet maple and beer. My friend falls in love with their savoury, sweet sauce with a hint of spiciness. I would have loved it more if the pork belly’s skin is more crispy than soggy. I think that’s brilliant to include refreshing citrus slaw for that extra crunch.

Beer & Maple Glazed Pork Belly at S$28.

Get ready to sink your teeth into juicy and well-marbled ribeye with a smokey flavour and great sear. It is served with crispy kale, home-cut wedges, beef au jus, guaranteed to fill you up. Steak weighing at 200gm and wedges carbs, share with a friend if you’re a small eater.

200gm Ribeye “365 Days Grain Fed” at S$34.

Promotion: Set Lunch (S$25) available daily!

Some waiting expected if the cafe is on full house. We occasionally watched while chatting as we waited for our food.
