Media Tasting at Elixir Boutique Roasters
Fairly a new establishment on the block near Botanic Gardens, Elixir Boutique Roasters is a coffee specialist which roasts their own coffee as well as serve up exquisite coffee centric cocktails. With the barista pretty experienced in the world of coffee, be sure to seek suitable recommendations on the types of beans available, be it a black or white coffee that suits individual preferences. They do have unique beans that were sourced specificifically for a great cup of coffee.
As for their coffee cocktails, it was explained that the espresso shot added would act as a ‘supporting’ role, with coffee blending into the cocktail as an ingredient. Featured cocktails includes Killer Queen which was my favourite since it tasted of cherry and had a pleasant sweetness. As for the Stormbringer, it was an uncommon concoction made from torched spices, adding a touch of ‘traditional Chinese medicine’ taste to it.
Besides coffee, Elixir Boutique Roasters also served up decent brunch item curated to get diner salivating. Truffle, Eggs and Prosciutto is probably kind of comfort breakfast which I would not get sick of. Check out their fluffy looking scrambled eggs!
Grilled Halloumi looked like some sort of salad dish which was piled with vegetables. For those who do not like a heavy main, this dish could do the trick!
Probably my favourite dish was the Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang. Blue pea flower coloured rice of different gradient topped with a sunny side up and paired with tender chunks of beef cheeks. I love rendang sauce as it was flavorful and not exactly spicy! The blue pea grains are actually free flow!
Carbonara with Onsen Egg was creamy with the yolk adding an additional richness of the dish, elevating the overall taste.
Lastly would be the Brûlée French Toast, looking like a cross between bunch and dessert. The French toast was sweet, buttery, pairing with the fruits and chantilly cream.
Be sure to check out on Elixir Boutique Roasters as they are continuing to tweak its menu, adding more coffee cocktails as well as serving exclusive coffee brewed from unique roasts which you could not find elsewhere!
