What is undeniably the star of the meal and arguably what most people would come to Lawry’s for: The Signature Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef. You would be served 180g of the USDA prime rib of beef served with mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding and whipped cream horseradish. You can choose from a side of creamed corn, creamed spinach or buttered peas. Our pick is the creamed spinach – this is so good it can convert non-spinach lovers. The prime rib of beef is so tender and to top it off, the chef will come by your table with their iconic silver carts to carve the beef before your eyes – a treat for your senses indeed!

one-ninety-restaurant-19
Chef Kamarl John who heads One-Ninety Restaurant in Four Seasons Hotel Singapore believes in using quality ingredients with clean fresh flavours when it comes to food. An experience where the diner leaves happy after a natural and wholesome meal. This 1.2kg forty days aged Wagyu Rib Chop will make a perfect shared meal for four generously. It is first aged in-house for 40 days, tenderized and slow chargrilled over apple wood. Tender wagyu with a nice smoky crust tasted as good on its own. Or alternatively, dip into the peppercorn sauce and make a flavoursome eating experience.

Another signature of Kinki is this Ohmi Wagyu Houba-Yaki ($90). Although a slight pinch to the wallet, this Ohmi A4 wagyu striploin is chargrilled on a leaf with mixed mushrooms. The marbling on the Wagyu is wonderful with a good layer of fat. Served on the rare to medium-rare side, you are welcome to eat it as is or continue to let the charcoal flames heat the meat to medium or medium well.

Splurging on a pricier steak, delectable almost sweet beef flavour, and a strong buttery taste, go for Fillet Mignon. Followed by an abundance of fat, marbled within the meat and the edges is what makes Ribeye the popular choice for the crowd. The New York Strip thou not as meltingly soft as the aforementioned steaks, but just enough chewing to remind you why your vegan experience didn’t last. Good steak paired with a good wine leads to a perfect lunch or dinner.

the-feather-blade-10
As the name suggests, The Feather Blade specialises in feather blade steak, inspired by London steakhouse Flat Iron. Give your steak an extra dose with Asian-inspired sides and sauces and a series of cocktails, craft sakes and more. This set of steak is almost perfect. The marbled fats seem to dissolve into a buttery flavour, exquisite taste that you can’t stop. Two of the classic side dishes that we have enjoyed are potatoes and caesar salad with crispy nacho chip egg. The potatoes are smashed, deep fried in beef fats and drizzled with sriracha mayo. They’re aromatic, more flavourful and tasty than the usual potatoes. Beautiful crispy nacho chip egg deep-fried to golden revealing a molten yolk inside.

The highlight at Makino had to be the shabu shabu soup base and fresh ingredients like seafood, meat and vegetables directly imported from Japan. There are six different soup bases to choose from! Ranged from the Signature soup base including Mentaiko Soup, Makino Spicy Miso broth, Tonkutsu Soup to classic soup base like chicken broth, mixed mushroom broth. My favourite meat definitely goes to the fatty and oily Japanese ohmi princess wagyu. Ohmi beef is known as the “Japan Top Three Wagyu.” Definitely a premium ingredient for shabu shabu and guaranteed to brighten the day of a beef connoisseur.

Sushi-Airways-8
Fly into the heart of Kampong Glam with Sushi Airways and you’re in for a unique gastronomic adventure. Having tried the Premium Omakase dinner menu, we are happy to have found a new gem in amidst the hustle and bustle of the Arab Street/Haji Lane area. The aircraft experience is also heightened as you dine whilst looking out of the windows of the quiet, air-conditioned second-storey restaurant. Our main for the night was this well-marbled A5 Wagyu Beef – definitely top-quality stuff here.

Probably the most authentic way of having Israeli cuisine in Singapore! Miznon, all hailed from Tel Aviv, Israel is well-established across the cities like New York, Melbourne, Paris, and Vienna. My favourite Abu Kebab (S$24) is generously stuffed with lamb and beef meatballs topped with homemade salsa, pickles and finally drizzled with tahini, green chilli dressing, onions and parsley. These meatballs are slightly rare in the middle yet very juicy to taste. While the dressings are a perfect match for the hearty meatballs.
