Media Tasting at CHICHA San Chen
Originated from Taichung, CHICHA San Chen (吃茶三千) has opened its first brunch at Somerset 313, Singapore. Priding itself on using only high-quality ingredients and tea leaves harvested from the local farms, CHICHA San Chen has emulated the authentic bubble tea experience akin to having it in Taiwan.
What intrigued me at CHICHA San Chen (吃茶三千) was the sight of multiple patented Teapresso machine that were operated to serve freshly-brewed-to-order bubble tea. This would probably be a game-changing new concept in the bubble tea scene which Singaporean are not exposed and familiar to.
The top 2 most popular beverage from the menu would be the Bubble Milk Tea and Dong Ding Oolong Fresh Milk Tea. I would prefer the Bubble Milk Tea since it has that caramelized richness which I thoroughly enjoy gulp after gulp.
Besides ordering from their menu, customers are also given a choice to customize their tea to suit their individual preference! With six tea varieties available at CHICHA San Chen,
from classic favourites Green tea and Black tea to Cassia Black tea, High Mountain Pouchong tea, Osmanthus Oolong tea and Dong Ding Oolong tea, which was awarded three golden stars – the top accolade for superior taste and quality – by the prestigious International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi).
Customers can then further can choose from an array of flavours to layer the fresh brew with a tropical note such as mango and passionfruit which I had tried. Finally adding the topping of their choice!
