Media Tasting at Pizza Maru
Newly opened in Northpoint City is the ever famous pizza chain from Korea, Pizza Maru! Known for its pizzas, Pizza Maru stands out from other pizza shops as they use Green Tea Wellbeing and Black Rice Dough.
From the Premium Pizza Range, they use the Green Tea Wellbeing dough to create the Mango Ocean pizza which had a wide variety of flavours in one bite. This pizza is stacked with seafood like shrimp, scallop and squid, vegetables and fruits (mango, hence the name) and their special spicy Buldak sauce. This spicy sauce really added a kick to the taste.
Mango Ocean at S$19.80 (regular 9 inch pizza) / S$23.80 (large 12 inch pizza).
Add-ons: Gold Edge Crust at S$3.20 (regular 9 inch pizza) / S$5.50 (large 12 inch pizza).
Using Black Rice Dough is the Chicago Pizza Range and the Real BBQ Chicago is not to be messed with.
The double mozzarella cheese on this pizza could stretch up to a height taller than me, and was easily my favourite one too. Not only was this pizza filled with savoury items like chicken and BBQ sauce, they even added a sweet note to it by adding honey and even icing sugar to it! It might sound weird, but trust me, it’s weird in the best way.
Real BBQ Chicago at S$26.80 (regular 9 inch pizza).
Other dishes to expect are their wide range of Korean Fried Chicken Flavours. I especially liked the Honey Butter Coated one as it was a sweet version, but spice lovers should go for their Supa Hot Dak Gangjeong!
Honey Butter Coat at S$16.80 for 6 pieces or S$29.80 for 12 pieces.
Supa Hot Dak Gangjeong at S$16.80 for 6 pieces or S$29.80 for 12 pieces.
If you’re feeling adventurous, the Bibimbap Spam Tower was such a sight and a must-try. This tower is packed with Korean inspired flavours like fried kimchi, and of course, chicken spam! To top it all off, it is drizzled with Siracha sauce and parmesan cheese.
Bibimbap Spam Tower at S$12.80.
