Media Tasting at District 10 Bar & Restaurant
District 10 is a local F&B brand, introduces Chef Luca Pezzera’s family recipes from Bergamo, North of Italy to the new restaurant menu in Singapore for the first time. The family recipes are from Mama Bruna Pezzera’s rustic kitchen, displaying her personal recipes and cooking style. The new menu also reflected Mama Bruna’s belief in serving simple and wholesome food. All kinds of pasta and pizzas are made from scratch except penne. The pasta doughs are prepared in advance and freshly rolled out in the kitchen upon order. So do allow some time for the chefs to prepare your hot meal. Freshly created pasta has a nice texture which blends in very well with pasta sauce and creates an even satisfying taste. Here are some of the dishes that you shouldn’t miss!
While having homemade angel hair pasta, I thought of my mum. It was comforting, similar to eating Chinese “mee sua”. The perfectly cooked angel hair pasta just melts in the mouth, giving our taste buds a combined flavour burst of light parmesan cheese sauce and black truffle. Best enjoyed when it’s piping hot!
Il Piatto della Nonna Fatto (Homemade Angel Hair pasta in light parmesan cheese sauce with black truffle) at S$28++.
Fan of beef and eggs shouldn’t miss this dish! The minced black Angus beef stuffing in the ravioli with herbs and ricotta cheese was delicious. The characteristic warm, piperine flavour wonderfully offsets the richness of the beef. From pan-frying the beef fillings to hand- kneading to pulling to pressing the pasta wrap and skilfully assembling the beef with the egg yolk to poaching the ravioli to cooking and layering the butter before the shaving black truffle on top. It is all about precision and finesse where chef helms the fort.
Ravioli Alla Fornarina Con Tartufo Nero (Handcrafted ravioli with ricotta, black angus beef and egg yolk) at S$28++.
These unpretentious juicy little flavour meatball bombs laid beautiful on handmade pizza with its crispy crust. What I also like the chef has added extra virgin olive oil to the pizza for the extra aroma and taste.
Villaggio di Bergamo Pizza (Wagyu Meatballs, Mozzarella, Basil and extra virgin olive oil) at S$26++.
Pezzera-made tomato-based sauce is much nicer than the usual restaurant with a naturally sweet taste. All ingredients and al dente pasta were well coated with the sauce. The sauce was so delicious, it will make you forget you’re having carbs!
Mare d Monti (Mixed Seafood Linguine with basil oregano in tomato sauce) at S$28++.
The meal ended off with traditional Italian Tiramisu. It was average but not mindblowing.
Tiramisu at S$14++.
