Media Tasting at Atmastel
Stepping into Atmastel, the decor is eye-catching. With high ceiling filled with gorgeous flowers that are sure to add lots of natural beauty to the restaurant. The highlight would be freshly made in-house pasta with not just 1 but 18 different types of fresh pasta! I like the mini-open kitchen designed to allow diners or passerby to see how kinds of pasta are made.
If you fancy something appetising then prawns and squid should do the trick; these prawns and squid prepared light with crunchy barley are a real little treat. Pan-fried prawns were sweet and juicy, with a plump body and a slightly crisp bite. The squid was tender and with a pleasant bite.
INSALATA TIEPIDA DI FARRO E PESCE S$20++.
My favourite pasta goes to Black Ink Tagliolini with the plump sauteed oysters. Tagliolini was silky soft and clearly well-made in pleasant and slightly sweet pachino tomato sauce.
TAGLIOLINI BLACK INK ALLE OSTRICHE E PACHINO at S$32.90++.
The fresh basil gave the dish body, with sweetness from tomato sauce and a hearty pasta bite from the maccheroncini. I like that the homemade pork sausages are flavourful and savoury.
MACCHERONCINI ALLA SALSICCIA at S$22.90++.
If you think to go meatless, this dish is good for you. Fresh Pappardelle with sautéed mushrooms and sliced asparagus in a light creamy sauce.
PAPPARDELLE AI FUNGHI PORCINI E ASPARAGI S$25.90++.
If you have been following me on Instagram@foodgemsg, this is not my first visit to Atmastel. Somehow, there is a change in the pizza dough. Thou the pizza comes with generous amount of mozzarella cheese, Italian cherry tomato, mushrooms and seasonal vegetables, but I miss the old good fluffy pizza dough.
PIZZA VEGETARIANA S$24++.
Who’s a fan of lamb rack? I’m definitely one of them! The marinated lamb rack in delicious Negroamaro red wine sauce and comes with assorted vegetables. There is a hint of gamey smell in lamb despite it was masked with seasonings. A little disappointed with the inconsistency in the doneness.
AGNELLO ALLO SCOTTADITO S$42.90++.
Nicely grilled salmon in the orange sauce that was moist and flaky with a crisp golden crust. It is accompanied with couscous, carrots, zucchini, celery and potato.
COUSCOUS CON SALMONE GRIGLIATO S$20++.
Anticipate a surprise with these sweet little desserts. The dessert trilogy comes with three different Chef choices of dessert. Sample all the three different desserts in tasting portion at one go! My favourite goes to well-balanced bittersweet tiramisu with a textural sensation with its soft blanket of spongy ladyfingers, cocoa and pillowy cream.
TRILOGIA DEL PASTRY CHEF S$14.90++.
