Media Tasting at Iron Supper Club
Tucked along Macpherson Road, Ironsupperclub has a cozy family and friends oriented setting that would make perfect for a catching up or a gathering session.
It is one out of the 3 outlets helmed by Chef Heman who has 28 years of culinary experience under his belt. With his passion for cooking and dedicating his past 2 decades in SIN-cuisine, I got a taste of his personal unique and flavourful take on “East Meets West” cuisine, with a special Singapore touch.
The Signature Cheese Fritter $9.90 was an addictive appetiser to start off with. With a single bite on the crispy and light batter, the creamy cheese within oozed out smoothly. Served with Camembert Balsamic Reduction, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Asian Salad.
Signature Chef Heman’s Garden of Escargot S$14.90 came with half a dozen escargots flambe right in front of our very eyes. Mild taste of garden herbs that wasn’t too overpowering. The dish was served with Asian Salad as well, with empty Choux Pastry shells baked to perfection. I was hoping that the choux pastry contained filling though.
Spaghetti with Soft Shell Crab S$18.90 was a dish that does a punch at my palate. I wasn’t expecting the crustacean taste to be that intense in a positive way. The spaghetti was al dente with Soft Shell Crab drizzled with Singapore Chilli Crab Sauce, a signature in-house sauce with a hint of garlic.
Signature Bulan Pork Tomahawk Tonkatsu 1 bone S$48.90 is a dish great for sharing up to 3 pax. Dry Aged Pork coated with Japanese style batter that was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was served with Asian Salad, Asian Ma-La Sauce, Scallion Dressing, Cilantro Chili Sauce as well as Garlic Crisps.
Quench your thirst with their series of Ice Fun drinks such as Ice Fun Cool Sour Plum “Asam Boi”, 2 in 1 Jello S$6.90, Ice Fun Cool Caffè Mocha, 3 In 1 Jello S$7.90 or Ice Fun Cool Milk Tea 3 in 1 Jello S$7.90. All served with different toppings for you to have fun with.
Last but not least was The Classic “Tiong Bahru” Ice-cream Stick S$5.90. A homemade multicoloured and refreshing ice popsicle of pineapple base with mango puree cream, served in a retro style mug.
