Media Tasting at Fu Xiang Signatures
One of Fu Xiang’s signature dishes would be their Curry Chicken (S$6.80). The curry is made from scratch with 21 spice and herbs, carefully prepared, cooked and simmered for 5 hours before transforming into the curry paste used as the base of the signature curry. Fragrant, thick and kids friendly (definitely not too spicy at all). Perfect for pouring all over your rice or dip some crispy baguette in it!
An unconventional traditional dish with a modern twist was the Chicken Biscuit with Curry Rice (S$6.90). These fried chicken cutlets were coated evenly with crushed biscuits and drenching each slice with the thick curry sauce made it even more addictive since there was a crunch in every bite.
The piping hot claypot bowl of Curry Assam Tiger Prawns (S$28.00) looks delish as it arrives brimming with ingredients such as huge fresh tiger prawns, ladyfingers, chunks of eggplant, tau kee, cabbages, etc. The hint of sourness due to the Assam curry differentiates itself from the signature curry. I guess no one could stop pouring the curry all over their rice since their Assam paste was diligently made from scratch as well!
It is great to see that Fu Xiang being helmed by young bosses who continue to serve signature heritage food that incorporates modern twist. The rest of Fu Xiang Kitchen is undergoing the rebranding as well in the near future and they also have food delivery option, available at www.fuxiangdelivery.com!
