Do you want to taste a bit of everything especially seafood? “Our Daily Seafood Theme Buffet” at Hotel Jen Tanglin will delight your taste bud with Lobster Rock ‘n’ Roll on Wednesday and Seafood Madness from Friday to Sunday.
Let’s check out the spread at Lobster Rock ‘n’ Roll on Wednesday. Crabs are delish, but when it comes to supreme seafood, nothing beats the thick and chunky lobster meat. Expect stellar precedents of this lobster delicacy including Boston lobsters on ice, grilled baby lobster, lobster thermidor, lobster porridge, lobster bisque, Norwegian percik lobster, Singapore chilli style lobster, lobster paella and more! Set aside seafood section, anticipate selection of meat (roasted chicken, beef), Asian favourites (laksa, chilli crab), Japanese sashimi and sushi, iced seafood, DIY (rojak, kueh pie tee) and live station (grilled baby lobster), dessert corner (durian pengat, ondeh ondeh cake) and so on!
Lobster Thermidor that is baked to oven-brown with a booze cheese crust. It was expectedly a hot favourite among diners, you’ll probably come back for another serving.
Featuring one of the Signature dishes from Ah Hoi’s kitchen; Singapore chilli style lobster. Think lobster bathed in the rich and thick chilli crab sauce.
The flavour that is not commonly found at the buffet; Norwegian percik lobster. The sauce consisted of a very strong spice, lemongrass, coconut milk and tamarind paste.
Expect one whole baked salmon offered at the buffet. It’s one of the crowd favourites of the night! Baked salmon was soft and slightly rare in the middle.
Get your protein fixed here with roasted beef, roasted chicken, honey ham and more!
Get your sashimi and sushi fixed.
Watch out for butter cheese smothered grilled baby lobster. They are grilled upon request. Be sure to order this in advance as it takes about 20 minutes to prepare.
At the buffet spread, you can even DIY your laksa. I’ve added a grilled baby lobster for my laksa!
The lobster bisque is rich in taste but not thick and creamy.
Being a durian lover, I’m so delighted to spot durian pengat at the buffet spread. A pleasantly sweet fragrance and I would have enjoyed more if there’s a complex mix of bitterness and sweetness.
Expect a wide range of dessert brought to you by the sister hotel Shangri La. I’m bloated after my mains and managed to try the ondeh ondeh cake. It’s soft on the inside, with a wonderful gula melaka fragrance to boot.
I’m impressed by the variety of lobsters and Asian favourites offered at the buffet and the very clean food stations. The interior of J65 is spacious and bright with wide dining area and high ceiling. However, service can be more efficient in clearing our plates.
